Shopify apps for Singapore stores: the 13 we install most

The Shopify apps we install most for Singapore stores: what each does, what it costs in USD, and the local catches, such as Klaviyo SMS and OTP message fees.

Key takeaways

  • These are the 13 Shopify App Store apps we install most often for clients, grouped by the job each one does. All bill in USD, not SGD.
  • Two local catches: Klaviyo cannot send SMS to Singapore numbers, and COD King's SMS one-time passwords cost about USD 0.18 each in Singapore on its free plan against about USD 0.03 on WhatsApp (checked 20 October 2026).
  • A typical starter stack of a page builder, loyalty, Google reviews and automatic discounts costs about USD 66 a month. Install an app only where Shopify's own features fall short.

These are the 13 Shopify App Store apps we install most often for our clients' stores. For each one: the job it does, what it costs, and the catch to know before you install it in Singapore. A typical starter set of four (a page builder, loyalty, Google reviews and automatic discounts) costs about USD 66 a month.

Prices are each app's lowest paid plan on its Shopify App Store listing, checked on 20 October 2026. Apps bill in USD, not SGD, and change plans often, so check the listing before you budget.

How do we decide which apps to install?

We install an app only when Shopify's own features do not cover the job. Every app adds a monthly fee, and most add code to your storefront that can slow it down. Before installing, we ask three questions:

  1. Can Shopify do it already? Shopify's own discounts, Shopify Forms and Shopify Email cover simple cases.
  2. Does it solve a problem you have today? A quiz or loyalty programme only pays when there is enough traffic or repeat buying to feed it.
  3. Does it overlap with an app you already have? Two page builders or two pop-up apps on one store is a common, avoidable cost.

Which apps build better pages?

PageFly and GemPages are drag-and-drop page builders for landing, product and collection pages. Marketing teams use them to launch campaign pages without waiting for a developer. They do the same job, so pick one. PageFly starts at USD 24 a month and GemPages at USD 29. Both have a free plan for one published page.

Use a page builder for campaign and landing pages, not for the whole store. Pages built in a builder are harder to move to a new theme, and the builder's code loads on every page it touches.

Bear Specs & Comparison Tables builds spec tables and side-by-side comparisons from product data. It suits electronics, furniture, mattresses and any range where shoppers compare sizes or specs. From USD 6.99 a month.

Essential Grid Gallery & Video adds galleries, shoppable lookbooks and YouTube or Instagram video carousels. It suits fashion and lifestyle brands. A free plan covers one gallery of 12 images, and paid plans start at USD 5.99.

Which apps raise order value?

AIOD Automatic Discount & Gift runs buy-one-get-one, tiered, volume and free-gift discounts that apply automatically, with a progress bar toward the next reward. It also works on Shopify POS, so outlets can honour the same promotion. It is free until the app generates USD 500 in sales, then USD 19.99 a month. The free and Grow plans are not available on Shopify Advanced or Plus.

Recomma builds product-recommendation quizzes, for example "find your skincare routine", and collects an email at the end. It suits ranges with many similar products. Free for 50 responses, then from USD 15 a month.

Urgenzy shows small pop-ups of recent purchases ("someone in Tampines bought…"). It is USD 12.99 a month after a 20-day trial. Keep the pop-ups infrequent and based on real orders, so they help rather than annoy.

Which apps bring customers back?

Smile runs loyalty points, VIP tiers and referrals. It works with Shopify POS, so customers earn and redeem points both online and in your outlets. Free up to 200 orders a month, then from USD 15.

Klaviyo runs email marketing: welcome series, abandoned cart, post-purchase and win-back flows. Free for 250 contacts, and email plans start at USD 20 a month.

The Singapore catch: Klaviyo SMS is not available for Singapore phone numbers. Klaviyo's help centre lists only North America, Australia, New Zealand and parts of Europe as supported SMS countries. Use Klaviyo for email, and handle SMS or WhatsApp with another tool.

Which apps build trust?

Reputon Google Reviews imports your Google reviews from Google Maps and your Business Profile, shows them on the store, and asks buyers for new reviews after checkout. Brands with outlets can show reviews per location. USD 6.99 a month, plus USD 3 for each extra location.

MAPMIGO adds a store locator with search and "near me" for brands with outlets or stockists. It is free and needs no Google Maps API key. Outlets can be imported from a spreadsheet.

Which apps handle cash on delivery and stock?

COD King reduces fake cash-on-delivery orders. The shopper confirms the order with a one-time password by SMS or WhatsApp, and you can ask for a part payment upfront, for example the delivery fee, with the balance collected on delivery. Plans run from free to USD 59 a month, with a fee of 0.5% to 1.5% on part-paid orders on the lower plans. If your store takes every payment upfront by card or PayNow, you do not need it.

The Singapore catch: every one-time password is billed per message. On the free plan, an SMS to a Singapore number costs about USD 0.18, against about USD 0.03 for a WhatsApp utility message. Use WhatsApp as the default channel.

syncX imports and updates stock, prices and products from supplier feeds: Google Sheets, FTP, Dropbox, CSV, XML, JSON or an API. It can also keep stock in step across several Shopify stores, for example a Singapore store and a Malaysia store. It does not connect Shopee, Lazada or Qoo10. Free for 2,000 products and one feed, then from USD 7 a month.

What about Chinese and other languages?

Several of these apps follow Shopify's own translation settings, and Smile lists support for over 20 languages. If your store runs in Chinese as well as English, switch the storefront language and check each app's widgets, emails and pop-ups before launch.

When should you build instead of install?

An app is the right answer when the job is common. A custom build is better when you would otherwise stack several apps to reach one workflow, or when data has to flow into your back office, such as stock from an ERP or sales and payouts into Xero. We build those as custom integrations. We also run our own mall GTO reporting app on the Shopify App Store.

Frequently asked questions

How much do Shopify apps cost per month?

Most of the apps here start between USD 6 and USD 30 a month. A starter set of four apps costs about USD 66 a month. Usage-based apps, such as COD King's messages or Klaviyo above 250 contacts, grow with your store.

Are Shopify apps billed in SGD?

No. App fees are set in USD. Most are charged on your Shopify invoice, and some, such as Klaviyo, may bill separately.

Can Klaviyo send SMS to Singapore customers?

No. Singapore is not on Klaviyo's list of supported SMS countries (checked 20 October 2026). Use Klaviyo for email and another channel for SMS or WhatsApp.

Do loyalty points work in our outlets too?

With Smile, yes. It works with Shopify POS, so points earned online can be redeemed in-store and the other way round. See our Shopify POS guide for outlet costs.

How many apps should a new store install?

As few as the job needs. Most new stores launch with three to five. Add more once you have traffic and know which problem is costing sales.

Can you choose and set up apps for our store?

Yes. App selection and setup are part of Shopify development. Talk to us and we will recommend a set for your store.
